Paperboy sets a new world record for Speckle Park breed at $68,000

In what is thought to be a new world record price for a Speckle Park bull, the Humphries family today sold Wattlegrove Paperboy to a $68,000 top price at their on-property sale.

Sold to Temple Mount Farm, Woodend, Victoria,  Temple Mount Farm also bought the third top lot, Wattle Grove Presidential, son of Codiak Eagle GNK 46Y

The Codiak Putnam son exceeded the previous top price for the breed of $60,000, paid at the Summit3sale in 2016 in Canada for River Hill 50T Crusader 025C by a syndicate of Australian, English and Canadian buyers, including NSW stud Minnamurra Speckle Parks.

 

P503 Cara S101 to $75,000 world record high Sired By the Legendary Paperboy P503

Today’s final sale for the year culminated in a new world record top price of $75,000 paid for a Speckle Park female, when Wattle Grove P503 Cara S101 went under the hammer.

Despite being the final live lot of the day, it was no surprise that the eye-catching female quickly spurred a bidding frenzy as she was the first daughter of the $68,000 world record top-priced bull, Wattle Grove Paperboy P503. She was out of Wattle Grove Cara P752 and was Dale’s pick of the heifers.

“Wow” was the only word needed to describe the day.

The top semen package was purchased by online buyer Stephen Ariss, Temple Mount Farm, Woodend North, Victoria, who last year bought the $68,000 Paperboy P503.

Three Way Speckle Park stud has marked the beginning of the end of its existence in style by setting a new world record at its stage one dispersal sale on Saturday.

A sale-high of $70,000 was reached when NGL Q1 Three Way Graceland’s setting a new world record for a Speckle Park female in the process surpassing the previous record The 26-month-old was sired by Spots ‘N’ Sprouts Stands Alone and out of Three Way Gracelands, and was artificially inseminated to LLG 33E on July 30 this year.
